you cannot without to rebuild whole digiKam source code. Exiv2 0.26
and 0.27 are binary not compatible...

I'M rewrite whole PNG image including the metadata chunks.

Exiv2 is able to touch only metadata, without touching image data.
It's faster in all cases.
