Not to mention that for a mailinglist there are specialised programs (aka 
mailagents) as kmail and thunderbird which let me read the mails the way I 
like it, not the way some forum developer thinks things should be working. 
(Yes, I'm looking at you pixls.us)

Such a highly specialized piece of software usually also has a search function 
and options to mark messages as important etc.
