Hi,

digiKam source code do not take advantage yet of GPU... but for opencv
framework, used for calculation, yes.

Both NVidia and AMD GPU backen are supported by opencv. So, there is
no recommendation for GPU. Typically, here, use NVIDIA, but not a
recent GPU card (3/4 years old).
