[digiKam-users] Preview or Fullscreen mode exits automatically after about 30 seconds

It seems that it has really something to do with the keystrokes, that is it happens only when I’m in the Captions function. When I make no input at all it does not exit. But when I have started to write text, then also the preview of the pictures where i do not write any text exits after 30 seconds.

Then I start to enter a describing text (Captions) and after about 30 seconds the preview function exits automatically and throws me out of my text. This is really annoying and I can’t find a setting to avoid this. I can’t believe that this is intentional. The same is in the full screen mode - this also exits after about 30 seconds. What is wrong here?

On my system (Mac Mini with 4 processors and 16GB memory) it takes about 5 seconds to display a HEIC photo (ca. 4 MB) in preview or fullscreen mode, whereas a JPG photo takes max. 1 second. Outside of digiKam the time to display a HEIC photo is normal (1 second). Is there a way to accelerate this?
