Never heard of any problems with an official version of digikam. I use linux, 
but it's not as if Digikam was written yesterday.

I'm sure they'll do it in a flash (well, as fast as Apple can handle the 
notarising part...) when you pay for the required developer account (100$/year 
iirc). Keep in mind that Digikam is provided free of charge, and afaik, none 
of the developers get paid for their work on it.
