[digiKam-users] How to export an image and change (reduce file size)

I want to be able to export an image to my computer (Mac) and change the
image characteristics, most importantly, the file size. I cannot see any
obvious way of doing this. Is there an easy way to implement this or is
there a work around that will get the task done? tia.
