[digiKam-users] Batch DNG/RAW processing give different colors to Preview/Editor

Hi all,

So far I have set up a color managed digikam 6.4.0 on Linux, where colors look quite
consistent all the way, also with external programmes.

Now I have batch processed a series of DNG with embedded RAW files. Yet the outcome is
with the typical murky (dark and greatly reduced color intensity) unprocessed RAW look.
Processing, "assigned tools" were only a size reduction and conversion to jpeg.

Within the batch-prozessor window on the RAW Decoding tab, I chose 16 bit color depth,
auto brightness, camera profile = embedded. All the rest at default. Essentially the same
settings as the main digikam settings.

Why the difference?

a) Does Digikam do automatic processing of DNG/RAW files for the preview or when opening
them in the editor? Thereby giving me the "illusion" of a correct image? How to disable
those? The Editor setting "Raw Default Settings > Auto brighness" seems to have no effect.

b) Do I need to activate some other setting in the batch processor?

As an aside: it would be a great thing if queue settings could be saved and applied by
default to new queues...

Thanks for any pointers!!

Martin
