[digiKam-users] --> DK Loosing Database (part of it)

Today It happened again.

I had my DK opened and it was scanning my library for new items. I had to turn off my house lights and my wifi and also my NAS was down for some time.

When It came back, DK simply got rid of all items already scanned and started all over.

All over again.

I almost never got all my library completely scanned nor all faces recognised in DK.

Regards

Yes, it is on local, I would never try to store the database on a remote location.

Only my library, the photos themselves, is on the NAS drive.

Hi,

If you use a SQLite database file _must_ be located on the local hard
drive, not on the NAS. You need to use Mysql or Mariadb server
instead, to host a remote database.

This is a sqlite technical restriction, not digiKam. It's well
explained in the database setup configuration panel.

It is configured as a network device, so DK should be aware that the Library can sometime be unavailable. My library is huge and it will take a long long time to scan all again... this is very frustrating.
