I would not trust a 3rd party host like foxapp-pag or portable apps myself. I have nothing personal against either one of them you just can be 100% sure what they do to the applications there. What if they add a malware or a tracker or something else? Again, I am not saying that is what is happening I just don't trust 3rd party hosts. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Understood. I normally don't use it from a USB but run it from a local disk on my Windows machine. I prefer portable so that I do not have to install it every time. I guess I can copy the digikamrc file from my installed version to the portable installation to copy my options.BTW, I googled a bit and came across this site which hosts a portable version of digiKam 7.0.0 beta1.https://foxxapp-paf.blogspot.com/2019/12/digikam-portable-beta.htmlApparently, it follows the same paf format as PortableApps platform and also installs to the PortableApps directory. A virus check did not show any threats. Is this a genuine port of digiKam? Have not executed it yet. Just want to make sure!mjOn 28.12.2019 01:52 PM, Stephen Leibowitz wrote:> My batch file is useful if you want to run digiKam from a thumb drive or> other removable storage. digiKam does not write to the Windows registry.> Instead, its settings are stored in the digikamrc file.
