[digiKam-users] Connection to NAS drive

Hello all
I have just installed Digikam for the first time and wish to use the photos
stored on my NAS drive not the ones stored on the computer. When I start and
it asks to add a collection for the network have no way of connecting to
anything outside the computer. Is this a feature or a bug?
Computer is Ubuntu 18.04
