Sequence number reset on date change during import?

I do not understand what you are asking or suggesting, can you elaborate 
please

All is working now, EXCEPT, any additions and/or changes to the folder 
that has the photo files in, do not update when Digikam starts even 
though I do have the setting ticked to update
