"open with..." does not work for kuickshow, why?

Probably the link to the desktop service is broken. digiKam do not know the
application available. It ask to the desktop which return a list of
services. DigiKam call it, apssing the url of the images. So it's delegate
to the desktop. Check your services configuration (in KDE look in control
panel)
