group batch-processed images with originals

2nd try..
I'm looking for a handy workflow for batched picture corrections.

Here's what I'd like to do:
- batch process some pictures, e.g. to by doing auto-auto-level 
- (semi-) automatically group the modified pictures with the originals,
  with modified pictures on top.

So far I've not found a way to perform the 2nd step. Any ideas how this
could be done?
