[Digikam-users] Face tag metadata

Where/how is face tag metadata stored by digiKam?  I have "Face Tags (including face areas)" checked under Settings->Metadata->Behavior, and the rectangle and name show up in the preview image, but I don't see any face-related data in the digiKam metadata display or that displayed by exiftool.
