I don't know what PTP is. I use a USB card reader, that can read many card
formats (for photography, I use Compact Flash or SD card, depending on the
camera).

It seems easier to do a copy/paste from a Nautilus window. I'll just have
to deactivate Digikam automatic launching when a card is put in the card
reader.
