[Digikam-users] backing up Digikam data

Is there any reason to backup the Digikam thumbnails database?  I backup my photos and the digikam database, and when the thumbnail database was split a long time ago, I just continued to back that up too.  Now as that database has gotten very big, I started wondering if there really is any reason to back it up.  As long as I have the other two, wouldn't the only downside of not backing up the thumbnails database be the time required to recreate it?
