[Digikam-users] Downloading photos from camera with DigiKam 2.9

I am using Ubuntu 12.04, which came with the new DK 2.9. Under old
operating system, I had to unmount my Canon PowerShot first before DK
would recognize it and download. Spent much $$ with a tech after
suddenly being unable to recognize camera at all, although it did work
at first, which is still mysterious to me. He installed gphoto, which
allowed my computer to recognize my camera; so now I can continue to do
the same "unmount" procedure, and DK finds my camera just fine. A
problem with Ubuntu, I think, since Dolphin file manager couldn't find
the camera either. Tech found info at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/digikam/+bug/865032.
Excuse my newbie language, and thanks for this list and your work.
