[Digikam-users] Android Jelly Bean PTP import not working

I'm running digiKam 2.6.0 on Gentoo linux.
I have a Galaxy Nexus that is running the stock Jelly Bean (JB) ROM. Before
upgrading to Jelly bean I took lots of pictures with the camera (again
using stock ICS rom). I never transferred the pictures into digikam at this
point. I then upgraded to JB, took a few more pictures and decided it was
time to import.
While using JB, I set the transfer mode on my phone to PTP, went to import,
and successfully imported all the photos taken while my phone was running
ICS. However, the only thing that digikam seems to recognize on the photos
taken while the phone has been running JB is the file name. None of the
metadata shows in the import screen, nor an image preview. All I get is the
little image of the balloon, and the proper file name of the picture.
Since it seems like the PTP is working fine (at least on older images), I'm
baffled as to why I can't transfer the new images. Is there a way to get
error information, or logging on the import?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
