[Digikam-users] editor sometimes saves as new version, loses tags

Sometimes (I'm not sure under what circumstances) when I exit the editor 
it loses the star-ratings and tags of the original.

Sometimes it seems to 'save as a new version' which appears as a 
separate image from the original (with a _v1 suffix).

And sometimes it does both and saves as a new version which has lost its 
tags.

I have digikam's editor set to automatically save changes when I exit, 
but it saves as new version and loses tags even if I save manually 
before exiting the editor.
