[Digikam-users] Forum registration and startup failure

As I'm new to the list, apologies if I'm repeating another thread...

I see forums for beginners, experienced, and general, but no way to 
register for any of them.
How do I do that?

Also, after the last round of updates, I can no longer start Digikam.  
When I try, I get

QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is 
still in use, all queries will cease to work.

Is this a known problem or just me?  The photos are now on a network 
drive accessed via nfs.
