Yes, I always tag two files (at least). But this is not that much work as it 
sounds. I simply have to select two (or even more files) and the rest of the 
work is the same as you only would tag one file.

The point is: automatic tagging jpeg from raw is fine but not all my jpeg 
files have the same tags as the corresponding raw files (some by accident I 
must confess). If I select files for printing I use tagging (print-date tag) 
for this. But I don't want my raw files to be printed. And if I decide to 
rework the settings (does not happen that often) I want to copy the tags from 
the old jpeg instead the one from the raw files.

The history function is not of much use for me. As long as the history only 
handles final pictures and not the process which leads to the new picture its 
usage is limited (for me). So even if the old tag belongs to a new photo 
(different parameter set) I can find out which photos I had printed. And with 
my backup I can restore the photo.
