Hi there,
Most of the recent Nikon reflex models lack the USB menu in the set-up,
because they work only in PTP mode. I got surprised when I got my D90
camera and it was not recognized by my system as a mass storage media.
Despite, its very likely for you to work around and get the PTP mode up
and running, I should say it's much easier, and recomended by most of
serious photographers I know to use a card reader. It uses no battery
and lowers the usage of the camera, giving to it a bit more of life.
