Dear Giles
I have carefully checked my Nikon D3100 camera Menu > Setup.
I find no Mass storage/PTP selectable function or item.
I have also checked my Nikon D3100 Reference Manual.
I find no reference to Mass storage/PTP selectable function or item.
I have searched with Google.
Many sites mention your reference:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond3100/page2.asp
But none actually show or explain the procedure.
I have been to Source forge and tried to down load Digikam version 2.0.0- beta2
Rev.: 1217876m
Unfortunately every attempt had a down load error.

Possible Solutions:
Where do i find and how do i install a Digikam/ Kipi version that supports Nikon
D3100
Regards John Bestevaar
