[Digikam-users] Digikam start up error : "/usr/lib/libkexiv2.so.8: undefined symbol: _ZTIN5Exiv25ErrorE"

Hello,

Upon upgrading from Kubunbtu 10.04 -> 10.10, digikam no longer starts:

*digikam: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkexiv2.so.8: undefined symbol:
_ZTIN5Exiv25ErrorE*

user at host:~$ ls -alhF /usr/lib/libkexiv2.so.8
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2010-10-25 13:22 /usr/lib/libkexiv2.so.8 ->
libkexiv2.so.8.1.0

user at host:~$ ls -alhF /usr/lib/libkexiv2.so.8.1.0

I've tried reinstalling the package, as well as the libkexiv2 library but I
get the same error.

I saw someone else was complaining about this but the solution given pointed
at a file I don't have.

Any thoughts on this one?  I'm stumped and would like to use the program
again!
