exiv2 is the command to use here. "exiv2 ex *.jpg" extracts all
exif/xmp/iptc data from the jpg file into a .exv file and "exiv2 in
*.jpg" inserts the corresponding .exv file into the jpg file. See man
exiv2 for more details.
