I'm not sure I understand your question.
I only copied/pasted these two lines in the Synaptic repository settings,
and that did the trick:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/philip5/kde44/ubuntu karmic main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/philip5/kde44/ubuntu karmic main
