[Digikam-users] Copy Metadata from a picture to anothers

You can do this using the Metadata kipi-plugin. Select the image(s) into
which you want to copy the data, then in Digikam Menu
Image->Metadata->Import Exif (or XMP or IPTC) and select the file from
which you want to copy the data.

If you have a lot of pictures and like to use the command prompt, you
can use exiftool or exiv2 (see manpages) (you may need to select the
images again and then Image->Reread metadata from image to see the changes).

This option just copies the metadata as text, for example to paste it
into a text editor.

If you store the tags as keywords in IPTC/XMP, those can be copied along
using Metadata->Import IPTC/XMP, and then Digikam should find those tags
in the image (you may need to select the images again and then
Image->Reread metadata from image). This only works if you have set up
digikam to store tags as keywords (Settings->Configure
Digikam->Metadata->"Save image tags as "Keyword" tags).

PS: If you don't have the Metadata plugin, make sure you have installed
the kipi-plugins package of your distribution, it is independent of digikam.
