I recompiled kipi-plugins with -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug, then I selected
all areas in kdebugdialog and "applied" (when searching for "kipi", only
KIPI (general) and KIPI (loading) appeared).

Seems too brief compared to your output. NB I am running it inside GNOME
session. Do I need some KDE daemons running?
