[Digikam-users] After a while Digikam is eating a lot of RAM

Hello everyone,
After I repaired my camera, I restarted using digikam. At the moment I'm working on a set of ~400 JPG images taken with a Canon 350D.
I'm browsing them in the editor, just to adjust rotation, to crop and to tweak colours and contrast using curves. After I did the changes I want, I move to the next image, overwriting on the original one (I already have backups in another dir), and starting again.

After a while, roughly after I edited a dozen of images, digikam fill up all the available RAM (I have 2 GB, anything else take ~400 MB) and the system starts swapping on the hard disk. So I close digikam, and it releases more than 1.5 GB of RAM.

Obviously there's something wrong somewhere (maybe my fault?). Can you tell me what can I do to understand better this problem, and/or give you some more useful informations?

I'm running the latest digikam 1.0.0 RC and the latest kipi 0.9, both compiled from source yesterday on a Mandriva 2009.1 system running KDE 4.3.2.

thanks in advance
gerlos

PS In the meantime, I'm recompiling everything with the "debugfull" option...
