[Digikam-users] compile problem: jasper

Hi,

I have downloaded the source of jasper (version 1.900.0) from 
http://www.ece.uvic.ca/~mdadams/jasper. By default make install puts the .a and 
.la files to /usr/local/lib and some header files to /usr/local/include/jasper/

I ran ./configure with --with-extra-libs=/usr/local/lib/ 
--with-extra-includes=/usr/local/include/jasper/

However, I got this message during configure:

checking for jas_init in -ljasper... no
configure: WARNING: digiKam requires libjasper >= 1.7.0
configure: WARNING: digiKam requires libjasper >= 1.7.0; digiKam will not be 
compiled.

What could be the problem?
