Actually I was planning on using the gallery remote interface. But 
having a closer look at it, it seems there is no way of accessing a 
picture's comments. Which sucks.

Would a plugin which needs a SQL database dump to import the pictures be 
of any use to someone else but me? I doubt it.

If I don't come up with a great new solution, I might just do something 
like that instead of investing a great deal of time in a plugin no one 
will ever use.
