the only reason I'm doing this is because I can't get duplicates to work 
and the user mailing list didn't help me.

So I'm compiling against 7.5.0 because that's the version my distro is 
running.  I understand that it's under maintenance.

I had duplicates working for years and now suddenly it stopped. I 
figured I would build and debug to inspect what's happening in the 
program, maybe it's an error in my database or something.  If the 
duplicates code is largely the same between 7.5.0 and 8.0.0 then I guess 
I can I compile 8.0.0.
