No idea. I build 7.x (qt5-maintenance) and 8.x (master) on the same
Kubuntu 22.04 without problem. I never use a chroot. When i install a
version and i want to switch, i run a "make uninstall" first to clean
up the install. and i use different configuration files passing at
application startup. It's safe.

Note that qt5-maintenance is now closed. No more 7.x releases will be
done, only the future 8.0.0 is planed. So it's safe to work only on
the master branch for now.
