Release 5.8.0 before Christmas ?

Maik,

I just tested the tool. Basically, it work, even if zoom is not supported,
but without a low level history support, it will be complicated to use it.
typically, CTRL+Z and CTRL+SHIFT+Z must be available to revert or not
previous patches in the current tool session, as under gimp. Without zoom
and history support, this tool will be hard to use in produciton.

Another point is the preview of circular brush over the canvas. currently,
we are in blink mode while operate the pixels corrections.
