Statically linking Digikam 5.2

Hi,

I'm trying to get Digikam 5.2 working on Debian Jessie. However, due to
large number of libraries that are not available in the correct version, I
decided to try to compile it on Debian Stretch wit static linking so
(hopefully) I can remove most of the problematic runtime dependencies.

However, it seems that whatever I do to get it statically linked, the build
process fails for one reason or another. Did anyone succeed in building
statically linked Digikam and care to share how he did it?
