This bug was closed because it is not focused on the real cause of the problem:

The digikam 4.x settings window (and collection setup at installation) freezes
once a mysql connection was setup successfully with latest mariadb and mysql
libs at least in OpenSuse 12.3 and 13.1.

This bug is moved to a new one.
