Hi Johannes,

digikam uses Marble as the backend for OpenStreetMap, therefore I suggest you
first try whether you can see updated tiles in the Marble application. If they
are not updated there, either, you can try clearing the cache:
Settings->Configure Marble->Cache&Proxy->Cache->Clear
