digiKam Freeze on Import Debug Log
Version: 2.5.0 (using KDE 4.7.4)
OS: MS Windows
When right clicking on an Album and using the Import from remote Computer
functionality (ALT-SHIFT-I), either while the import process runs or when it is
finished, digiKam freezes for around 10-15 seconds. If I only import 5 pictures
or so, it freezes right after the Import. If I import a higher number of
pictures, it freezes while the Import runs which made importing of 47 pictures
to last for 17 minutes the last time I clocked it.
This is reproducable on my Windows 7 x64 and on my XP SP3 x86 system. It does
not happen when I run it in Ubuntu. All is fine there.
When I run an Import and digiKam freezes once or several times, the freezes
also happen while I use digiKam normally (tagging, searching...). When I close
and open digiKam and start no Import at all it runs pretty stable. I think I
had this kind of freezes only once or twice in the last days without running an
Import. But with the Import functionality it is reproducable every time.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run digiKam under Windows
2. Right click an Album --> Import --> Import from Remote Computer
3. Choose some pictures
4. Start the Import process
5. digiKam will freeze either on the Import (when importing ~5 or less
pictures) or while the import runs.
DigiKam will also freeze after the Import has been run and sometimes a
kioslave.exe process will crash.
Actual Results:
digiKam freezes on Import everytime and during normal Usage very seldom (the
latter one is not really annoying).
Expected Results:
Run digiKam without freezes ;-)
It does not make a difference which Windows OS you use (tested with Win7 x64
and XP x86).
It makes no difference if you use the SQLite or MySQL Database.
It makes no difference from where the Pictures are imported (USB, NAS, local
HDD).
It makes no difference where digiKam stores the pictures (NAS, local HDD).
