I've come to depend on showfoto for all my photo image processing and post-processing needs.

This works great when the images come from my dslr, but sometimes I have to scan images and process them. 

As of now, I have to launch an independent image scanning utility (say, Xsane), then save the image as pnm or png, then load it into showfoto.

I would be great to have image scanning integrated directly into showfoto, very much like gimp has it (or photoshop, if I remember correctly... it's been quite some time :) )
