That worked for cimg-dev 1.2.9 from cimg homepage in digikam 0.10.0 and
kde4. 
 Digikam still crashes on start when scanning for new images (separate
issue)
Strange you say its only cimg 1.2.9 as this problem existed with debains
1.2.0.1-2 as well.

Resolved now thank you.
