Under "digiKam bugs and wishes"
there are many entries, so it is easy to miss one ;-).

I also think that this is too complicated.
Just selecting several images +  right-click menu option
(or/and keyboard short-cut) would be better.

In the resulting view of the selected images
it would also be nice to be able
to zoom into the different pictures at the same time, e.g.
to compare the sharpness by looking at some detail,
or to make sure that all people in a group photo have
their eyes open, etc ...
