This is a great idea, but it needs some thought. (and some work :-))

- While in the image editor there is exactly one image, in main GUI you have
  0...n images selected:
  - Exif and histogramm view need to indicate that they are useless in case of
    multiple selected images
  - The Comments & Tags tab needs one mode for single image, a completely
    different mode for multiple images:
       - indicate which tags all selected images have in common, and which
         tags are only assigned to some of them
       - allow deletion and adding of tags to the whole selection
       - allow to replace comment for all, or only add text to the comment

- The tagging tree view in the proposed Comments & Tags tab should in one way
  be consistent with the tag filter tree view (in look and feel),
  but on the other hands in needs to be clearly distinguishable: Users shall
  not get confused about where a click means adding tags and where it means
  filter a view.
