commit digest for 10 July done

Thanks Alexander! Yes, I have noticed issue 1 from time to time, but it
seems to resolve itself. as for issue 2, i think that this is the nature of
GIT, that anyone can upload their work at any time, and so if someone is
working on something with old commits involved, well, when they merge into
the main repository it'll show up with an old date. We decided earlier that
if it isn't that old, still review it like one normally would and if it is
very old, it is up to you. I generally still review them for completeness.
as for 3) it has never worked for me.
