Moreover I have feeling that KDE apps will change these defaults while heading to what would be KDE 5; e.g. see the QMLish interfaces promoted by Nuno, modernized Dolphin menu and finally -- possible influence of Plasma Active on KDE _desktop_. If that's close to reality, we could target the future of KDE and make reasonable improvements aimed more at usability improvements than on compliance. I believe these improvements would pay off regardless of how KDE 5 will 'look' like.

Regarding the HIG: I have talked with Ellen a long time ago and asked her about all the view stuff under Settings. She said that having it under settings was just a bug, it actually belongs to View. Unfortunately that bug was never fixed.

Regarding the general discussion, I agree that we should have it but let's do it on the ML instead of in the review board. I look forward to a suggestion for a full set of actions that we can share in all apps. (Btw, I thought we had full-screen mode in most (all?) apps already.

A full-screen action is useful but I don't understand why it would block moving the show/not show of the menubar
