We could not provide visible undo/redo actions in table designer because simple (but working) altering will require instant saving. This makes undo/redo behaving unexpectedly. That said, your patch is useful in terms of porting to the new API and prepares us for the ultimate solution[tm], i.e. full alter table in Kexi 3.x. Just the buttons would hurt a bit if we show them, so please let's do not show them.

Please cherry-pick it as a single commit for master (i.e. 2.6).
