Well, at this point i don't believe we should completly change the name.
My reason for this is that we made a choice last year after a good and organised process involving everyone. I think a community decision should only be revisited if there is a large consensus that it causes problems which can't be solved by other means.
In the present case, i don't think there is such a large consensus, quite the contrary.
It seems that the kexi problem can be solved (seeing Adam mail). As for the Words problem, i don't think it is that severe that it requires challenging a community decision.

Everyone using a computer is familiar with Excel. Microsoft can use the luxury to have a separate name for a spreadsheet application because of this fact. I don't think we are in such a position, but we might still come up with an amazing name for a spreadsheet application. :)

We may care about the same as beofre: not to have this sentence in a handbook:

Abacus, like Plan and Stage etc. are all in english language so this
is not a point.
Distinct name is the point we want. Excel has not meaning to many
non-English speaking users but it's distinctive.
Good consistency would be a plus but not a the cost of confusion that
I mentioned in examples above.
