If I recall correctly:
 a) KDE's Solid backend on Windoze doesn't currently attach the 
PortableMediaPlayer interface to connected iPods, which prevents their 
detection (easy to solve).
 b) libgpod has no maintained Windoze port, there was one in distant past, I 
don't know what the status is.
 c) libgpod uses libusb to talk to iPods IIRC, I don't know if libusb Windows 
ports exists, perhaps yes.
