I'm no programmer, but what you are thinking of sounds somewhat
similar to the new Tablature applet. Perhaps getting the code of that
one would help you get an idea of how to make your idea appear.

Lyrics aren't collaborative, however. We no longer have the ability to
edit on Lyrics Wiki or whatever that site was. The corrections one
makes in the lyrics applet are made only locally.
