There's also the fact that there are different ways of using such dials.
Should I click+hold on the dial, then use up and down (or left and right) 
movement to lower/raise it?
Or click and drag into the direction where the dial should point?
For the latter way, when I click into the middle and then pull the mouse 
pointer outwards, will it jump around?

I’d find it better to do linear mouse movements, they are easier and faster to 
do. You can just click and swipe the mouse.
