I'm planning to add marble support later on. I chose google maps
initially because it does not add any new dependencies to amarok.
However with the qtwebkit in qt 4.7 there were some problems; e.g.
undraggable map and the odd loading issues you mentioned. For the next
release marble will be used if it's installed.
